Jim Kreinbrink (aka “Jim K.”) is the founder and president of Hyper Dog Media, a Denver-based digital marketing agency, and the host of the Local Home Heroes podcast. He started Local Home Heroes for a simple reason: after more than two decades of helping home service businesses grow online, he kept running into the same truth — the people behind the trucks and tool belts have some of the best stories nobody’s telling.
Jim has been building websites since 1997 and doing search engine optimization since 1998, back when a small, smartly-built site could outrank a Walmart just by putting the right words in the right places. That early curiosity turned into a career. He launched Hyper Dog Media to bring that same edge to small and mid-sized businesses, and today the agency works with plumbers, electricians, HVAC companies, roofers, and contractors across the country — the very people Local Home Heroes is built to celebrate.
Along the way, Jim founded SearchCon, AgencyCon, the Denver SEO Meetup, and the Boulder SEO Meetup. He’s a certified Google Ads professional, a founding member of the Colorado chapter of SEMPO, and a regular speaker on SEO, PPC, and — more recently — how local service businesses can show up in AI-powered search tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity. He earned his degree from the University of Wyoming and has called Colorado home ever since.
On the podcast, Jim brings a marketer’s curiosity and a genuine respect for the trades. He wants to know how a one-truck operation became a household name, what a service call taught somebody about running a business, and why the best pros keep showing up even on the hardest days. Alongside co-host Dan Stratford, he sits down with the plumbers, electricians, handymen, and contractors doing the work — and makes sure their stories get heard.
When he’s not recording, Jim is somewhere on a ski slope being, by his own admission, “one of the world’s most enthusiastic skiers — just not necessarily a good one.”
